Gobius incognitus
Incognito Goby (Gobius incognitus) is a little-known goby with sparse species-specific information in the literature. Like other Gobius, it is a small benthic fish associated with coastal bottoms rather than a targeted gamefish.

Habitat
Coastal marine bottoms, especially shallow bays, lagoons, harbors, and nearshore rocky or sandy substrates where gobies can rest on or near the bottom.
Bait notes
Not a common angling target. If encountered incidentally, very small natural baits such as bits of shrimp, worm, or clam can take gobies; tiny jigs or baited micro-hooks may also work.
Behavior
A bottom-dwelling goby that likely feeds on small invertebrates and forages close to cover. It is not considered a major sport species and is usually encountered by habitat sampling or incidental catch.
Caution
Like many small coastal gobies, it is not usually targeted for consumption and species-specific contaminant guidance is limited; avoid eating unless local advice and identification are certain. Handle carefully to avoid fin spines and watch for protected local regulations.
Fishing notes
Fish close to the bottom with very light tackle and small hooks around structure, pilings, rocks, or eelgrass edges. Because this species is obscure and not a standard gamefish, catch rates and tactics are not well documented.
