识别要点

  • Brown to reddish body with a blunt head and thick lips
  • Often shows darker bars or mottling and a pale belly
  • Small blenny form with a low continuous dorsal fin and perching posture

栖息地

Shallow Caribbean and western Atlantic reef flats, rocky shorelines, tide pools, and coral heads; typically in very shallow, surge-swept water close to cover.

饵料备注

Not a standard game fish. If collected or fished for observation, tiny bits of shrimp, worm, or fish flesh may draw a strike; very small soft plastics or micro jigs can also work near cover.

行为

Benthic and territorial, often perched on rock ledges or in holes. Feeds mainly on small algae and benthic invertebrates by short dashes from shelter.

注意事项

Handle carefully around reef edges and spiny coral structure. Do not consume unless local regulations and identification are certain; small reef fishes can be subject to collection limits and contamination concerns in some areas.

钓法备注

Best approached in very shallow water around rocks and coral using ultra-light tackle and a tiny presentation placed right at the fish's shelter. Be cautious around sharp reef structure; many locations restrict collecting reef fishes.
